Stamford u3a is a Registered Charity (no. 1077090), and is part of the Third Age Trust, a self-help organisation of people no longer in full-time employment, providing education, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. Our u3a was formed in 1993 and celebrated its 30th birthday in the summer of 2023 by holding a grand picnic in the grounds of nearby Tolethorpe Hall. In 2022 another u3a, Welland, was merged with Stamford to form a single u3a with over 500 members and nearly 50 Groups, details of which can be found via the 'Groups' button above. It is run by a committee of volunteers, and there are opportunities for members to help to run the organisation. We are also keen to establish new Groups, for which initial guidance and finance is available - just speak to any of the present committee, whose details are shown on page 3 of the current 'Newsletter'. We also welcome contributions to the Newsletter which should be sent to Patti Hallam by 21st of each month.

Monthly meetings, open to all members, are held on the first Monday of every month, except for Bank Holidays, when it moves to the second Monday. They are held at Barn Hill Methodist Church in Stamford and we open with tea, coffee, and light refreshments at 9:45 am until the meeting begins at 10:30 am, usually with a guest speaker. Details of the future programme can be found under the 'Events' button above.
We are open to new members, with our annual subscription being just £10 and monthly meetings are free to attend, but registration is required. The Application Form to join is shown below, and if you wish you can also complete a Banker's Order Form. There are many ways to pay your sub, including by Card Reader, which is available at monthly meetings. Any queries about membership can be sent to the Membership Secretary, Beverley Meader.
